This lovely room

Has been changed. I am still working on it as it is not as great as I wanted. The bookshelf and brown shelf on the right are gone and the contents are on a tall white bookshelf.
I was trying to make my books easier to get to. Have them all where I can see them. Some how I really got no more there than was before, well my magazines are on the bottom shelf instead of piles on the floor. But not really better. The shelf sits away from the wall and is WHITE. So it all looked great, just no room for my books. Still no room and looks WHITE.
Humph.
So not as cute and homey as before, and the books are not double on the shelf. And yes I got rid of some. Need to read others I don’t see me having to keep either.
Thing is I kind of knew this would happen and I kind of hoped it would be great space. And I was right the first time.
I waned change so I am not going back to how it was even if it was cute. Too cluttered and I am on a kick to get things gone.
Mom cleared a TON to a local store on consignment today, and I have a storage full to get rid of. If you live close start checking Suzanna’s I have stickers and loads of good vintage is headed their way! '

Sorry this is long and only a few pictures, I am not happy with the shelf so I want to get it more fixed before I show it. I would love to cover the back. Paper or cloth? All the same or different for each self. I would also like to add some of my boxes to the shelf to help break it up.
Any suggestions would be great!

Oh now.. WHAT are you DOING?!! I know I joke about such things, but I LIKE LOTS OF STUFF! I think LOTS OF STUFF LOOKS GREAT!.. and yes, "cute and homey", comfortable.. Still if it's a matter of order and organization, I CAN understand THAT. Chaos can make ME crazy, and who needs that, right?!!.. Good luck with it.. and if you're gonna go through with changing things around, you might as well have fun with it! ~tina

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about wanting cute, but having to get rid of clutter. I did that last year when we moved, I realised over the 5 years we'd lived in our house I'd collected way too much, books included!! Good luck, you'll get it perfect in the end! K xx

I want things a lot more "spare" around here... gives the eye and the soul some peace, I think. It is hard parting with some things but... well, you know! How did the shelf turn out? I love white!
