I was looking through my pictures of my pinks and the first thing I noticed  is how MUCH I have added to my room. lol

Here is the first redo of my room

I bought the boxes and gathered my pinks. It doesn’t look like this any more

This was Christmas stuff and a few new critters in Pink♥

Here it is today. My pinks all summer time!

I love all my junk, it makes me smile to look at and to play with when I move it around.

DIY Help

I am going to change my furniture in my room to the set that I got for free last fall.

My set is marked 1970’s but the style goes back to the ‘50s.

Here is the bed

This shows the best overall view of the style.

I  like the style, and the white. But I am wondering if I would like it painted a different color.

This is the back so not in as bad of shape as it looks. I would paint this side too.

Some of the “damage”. The worst part that you can almost see here is the yellowing if the paint. Real reason I would paint at all.

  I have a long dresser with 6 drawers 3x3.

A tall dresser, and a nightstand.

Not all of the pieces match exactly so painting may work well. The hardware is also different.  Rebecca @ A Gathering of Thoughts did a great redo on a set recently back to all white and it is great.

I just had the thought to do the pieces different colors.

A light green for the bed, Pink dressers, and the night stand white?

(wanted to show sample colors but between the internet turning off on me and the paint company sites wanting your life history and a photo scanned in??? NOT HELPFUL. I couldn’t find examples)

Also if you painted them would you get rid of the detail

This is a part I love of the style. Should I paint it back in, if I use different colors should I use the coordinating color to outline it?

I will just finally jump in and do it I was just wondering what you guys think since you are great with these things ;)

So if you have any great ideas please share, I could use more inspiration. Any good light pastel, pink, green, good whites please share!

Total upheaval

This lovely room

Has been changed. I am still working on it as it is not as great as I wanted. The bookshelf and brown shelf on the right are gone and the contents are on a tall white bookshelf.

I was trying to make my books easier to get to. Have them all where I can see them. Some how I really got no more there than was before, well my magazines are on the bottom shelf instead of piles on the floor. But not really better. The shelf sits away from the wall and is  WHITE. So it all looked great, just no room for my books. Still no room and looks WHITE.

Humph.

So not as cute and homey as before, and the books are not double on the shelf. And yes I got rid of some. Need to read others I don’t see me having to keep either.

Thing is I kind of knew this would happen and I kind of hoped it would be great space. And I was right the first time.

I waned change so I am not going back to how it was even if it was cute. Too cluttered and I am on a kick to get things gone.

Mom cleared a TON to a local store on consignment today, and I have a storage full to get rid of. If you live close start checking Suzanna’s I have stickers and loads of good vintage is headed their way! '

Sorry this is long and only  a few pictures, I am not happy with the shelf so I want to get it more fixed before I show it. I would love to cover the back. Paper or cloth? All the same or different for each self. I would also like to add some of my boxes to the  shelf to help break it up.

Any suggestions would be great!

My work space!

Ok don’t freak out I barely post twice a week and now two in one day!!

Workspace Wednesday!

I have been rearranging and making room for all my goodies and the laptop in my room. I was excited to have a fun way to show it to you!

Here is all my stuff, stuffed in the space I have,

Books, magazines, crafting, writing, bill paying, pencils, pens markers and really great finds I cannot hide.

I have planters, pink depression glass, baskets, boxes, shakers, milk glass, pretty up cycled cans, book ends from the dollar spot at Target, and I made my laptop fit!

The printer is under the enamel top table I am using for a desk. Great Suzanna’s find. it is on my vintage suitcases that hold many crafting items. I keep everything anymore that might make a fun project.

My chair is a curbside cutie. It holds my purse which always needs a spot.

Best part is this all sits in the middle of my great treasures. I have words and sayings that hang over me that inspire me.

Love, Believe, Delight, Create, Pray, Remember, Fabulous.

Good words to see everyday.

I have pretty candles and a lamp that keep me in the light and even though Pink is really here I have it all. This really is me. All of my things together in one spot.

I am happy here. I am glad I can spend time with you here!

HI!

I am working hard to get my room set up. Change of plans on the home front and I will not have my extra room. I am rolling with it and the entire house will get a once over!

Do you have HSB?

My sweet friend Elyse @ cottage was commenting that when she uses her husband’s new laptop she can High Speed Blogging, HSB!

This arrived

and I am now HSB all over the place! I am going to visit all over with this one. But unless I take new pictures it will be a few days until I get all my pictures moved from my old computer. I also have to see about my iTunes. I should be able to BUT as we all know it is never the way it should be on a computer. I am using Windows 7 but I am still not sure how it all works.

PLAY TIME!!

I am so excited to have a computer that is up to speed I think I can even type better! lol I even have to laugh at that!

Well off to learn more about this super great new toy!

By the way it too less than 10 minutes to set up and I have almost all of my options set on it.  HP seems to be great!

Also a big shout out to QVC for getting this to me in 4 days!!! Ordered Sunday morning and it arrived on Thursday!!

Fall has Arrived!

I am now ready for fall! I just love the weather, going to the State Fair, and PUMPKINS! Here is a peek at my home ready for fall!

Transformation Pink Saturday!

Happy Pink Saturday! Please visit Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for more lovely pinks!!










So I saw these great dresser trays on several peoples blogs and even shops. They were painted! When I was lucky enough to find one SUPER cheep at our church's yard sale I was thrilled. It was not in great shape as you can see so sure I'll paint it.

 

Well that was in May. And it sat in the magazine rack my sister got me until August. I had the paint, Pink and White so I had a  choice. I'll confess now I'm scared of commitment, and I'm lazy. So painting is a permanent thing for me, I can change the color of I don't like it but it will stay painted. It really was in bad shape and I got it to PAINT!! WHAT IS MY PROBLEM?!

I got it out one day and grabbed my favorite ballet pink spray paint and put it in a box outside and did it!

 It is soooooo much better than before and I just love it! The pretty work in the edges just pops with the paint. The color is perfect, and in this picture you don't even notice the mirror is messed up!  I'm still afraid to paint everything but I'm getting better as projects come out so well!
