I got on my laptop today to post my News Years wishes. I started on blogger and visited my friends who have posted over the last 2 days I have been away.

All the posts are lovely and reminiscent of the past year.

Some somber, as last year was of changes that were good but brought on by  sad events, some just a look at what the year held.

Visiting your blogs can make me think of so many things all at one time.

I laugh, I tear up, I smile, I am moved, I am excited, I learn

I watched a how today, Netflix is my new best friend no commercials!, and they debated the “real” friend and the virtual friend.

I have “real” friends in blogging. And believe me if I had unlimited funds I would have more than once jumped on a plane and been there to cook, clean or just listen.

I am here and I listen form here.

I have my own issues and drama and I understand having it even if I cannot truly identify with your issue.

BUT

I do care and I do think of you even when I am not online.

I find myself rushing to my phone or laptop because I have one of you on my mind that day. It is comforting to find you there, and there have been times when I just knew you were having a bad day.

So I hope when you see a small ((((HUGS)))) from me you know you are important to me and I do not want to but in but I care.

And I hope in a small way for a small moment you feel you are loved.

Ok this was not what I thought I would write today ;)

And I was noticing a book on a friends book shelf and thought I need that one BUT I am making myself read the one before it first!

Do you do that? Make a silly goal to be able to treat yourself?

Kate Morton is a wonderful writer, her books are in depth and cover many time periods. I love them and get involved but I have a hard time reading right through them. The Forgotten Garden took me months and I read others while I was going along. I am on The House at Riverton and it is as slow going, I am making my self read it so I can get her latest The Distant Hours. I can do it!

Have a super extra new year that I hope brings wonderful new beginnings to all of my lovely friends!

One Last look

Just thought I'd show what I got and  my new Christmas ornaments I bought this year

 My mom gave me her vintage Christmas Table cloth she got at a steal last year!

I love it and will display it next year then maybe it will go back to her. That would be fun!

 These little cuties are new I loved they are both Santa and Mrs.

 These are my guys! The sweet little one on the box is new

 The boot is new my elephants aren't  there are 3 hard to see in the pic though

This little deer is new he hung with my mouse from Starbucks  last year!

Birthday week

I went to see Twilight: Breaking Dawn last night

Pumpkin cheesecake with gluten free cookie and pecan crust, caramel cream cheese icing and rum pecan topping. HOME MADE!!!

I have to work on my list of free meals from restaurants

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I just pulled out a few old pics to share.

I miss all my goodies in storage. I could run out and get them at the old house but here I have to get a ride over to the storage lot and get it all out to make sure I have it.

I will confess I have anxiety over going over there.

One I want all my stuff and two I am afraid I will find it broken

But I will enjoy my pictures and hope to get some Christmas up

Hello...Are you still there?

I really hope you are.

I am a very bad blog friend :(

I love you all and get to visit some but not as much as I should.

I have some reasons, not good ones, reading, lack of internet, too tired, keeping everyone's kids. You know life.

But I do try and I do still keep in some touch.

I am on Facebook and it really zaps my computer time.

I am ready for fall and Halloween and am looking forward to the cool weather, PLEASE let it hit NC soon!!

I took my 3 year old niece to the fair and will take my, soon to be 7, year old nephew to ride the Halloween Train this weekend in New Hill. 

So I am busy and doing good and hope you all are too. I will be better at visiting so I can keep up with those of you not on Facebook, so I don't loose you.

Where do you keep your Magazines?

While trying to clean up and out today I started puzzling on where to keep my magazines. I don’t keep any silly People or Entertainment Weeklys I may buy, but what about the GREAT ONES???

I also have a HUGE box stored at my aunt’s house (need to get that) and a whole huge shopping tote in storage. I do tear down ones that end up with not so interesting things in them. But my ME Home Companions are treasures, and Somerset are BOOKS! How can I do that to them?

I have such limited space and know I need to get rid of them but …

So what do you do with yours? Maybe you will have a great idea I can use too!

Tea cup treasures

I spent the weekend going to a few of my mother and mines, favorite places.

We spent Saturday at a teddy bear tea and Sunday we visited Suzanna’s!

I scored these two lovelies!

They are in pretty good shape and I am very pleased to add them to my collection!

I was the big spender. Yes ladies these beauties put me back $3!!

I will have to wait until it is cooler to go through my stash in storage to find my other cups and saucers, but these will be fun until I find them.

Inspired

I was on Facebook today and a friend posted a picture from another blog.

This was on Shabby Addicts Blog. Don’t you love this kitchen! It is a dream of mine to have shelves not cabinets in my kitchen, AND a HUGE farm sink!!!

Here though I was inspired by the chairs. I have 4 chairs, pink, green, (bought that way) and 2 brown :(

When I bought them they worked with my décor, anyway I bought the pink and green one with a new table and had the brilliant idea to paint the other two.

After long looking and buying paint and taking it back I got light blue and yellow. The yellow I wasn’t sure about but thought I’d like different colors.

Started with the light blue

Worked really great I think. covered easy and is lighter than I expected and I’m pleased!

Yellow, well did seriously think (ONLY THOUGHT) about painting the chair white first than using the yellow, I repressed that urge :(

It looks better here than in person. You can make out some of the streakiness on the top. Took the whole can. I will need another to finish the chair :(

I am pleased that it is a paler shade of yellow than the can suggested so I think it will go in my palette better. Do wish the project was done though.

I will post when the set is complete!

Recipe HELP….

Happy Memorial Day, I can never forget I would not be sitting in my home with my dog, enjoying blogging if our freedoms had not been fought for for hundreds of years by those who just thought it was what they should do. I think brave means you do what is right, not just what you want to.

THANK YOU  to all who have served, are serving and to the families at home that share you with this great country.

As I am home enjoying a day off because of these great men and women, I watched Rachel Ray. It was a rerun but as I am not watching TV this time of day, but here was a really cool idea for meat loaf!

Meat and potato cup cakes!!

I love it!!

Now I have recently gone Gluten Free. SOOOO all the regular stuffings for a meat loaf I cannot use. Also I would love to add veggies to this.

Now do I add them to the meat so I have filling for the meat loaf, or stick to onions and seasoning in the meat and add veggies in the potatoes, I am thinking corn, maybe squash, zucchini, even broccoli. I am not a carrot and pea fan so I really don’t want to add them.

How would you do it. I really like the littleness and cupcakes rock! I really think this would be a great idea what would you do?
