Are you ready???

Honeslty what does that really mean? Ready for what the whole thing to be over? I have always been so deflated after Christmas, it is OVER, all the build up actually seems better than the day. And can you really be ready. Presents wrapped, food cooked, or did you throw a few gifts under the tree you found hidden in the closet when you went to get your good robe you are going to wear for the pictures, or if you forget, one of the 12 dishes you were going to make for Christmas dinner will it be that bad?

I don't hate Christmas, but really love the "Season" because it lasts longer. I have a mom that stress over all the "undone" things and then cannot enjoy any of it.

Please all my lovely friends don't stress it will all happen and it will be a memory of all that gathered and not really what was not done. Enjoy the moment and the time it will all be great, honestly letting go is hard especially for us women but how much nicer life is when you do.

So have the Happiest of Christmases and remember why we celebrate and it really puts all the hoopla in to perspective.

Christmas Wrap up

Just a quick post of my Christmas goodies and a big thank you to the ladies who had great giveaways that I won!

First here are my Trader Joes’ Flowers

They were little buds and opened up every day. This is only about half way open and I still have them after 3 weeks and they were all of $3.99!!

This is my teddy bear brush and comb set. Santa brought these to me from Suzanna’s Antiques!

This pink pearl set is from my mom! She said it was the year of Pink!

She also gave me these great repro beads!

I was lucky enough to get the exact calendar I wanted. I usually wait for them to go on sale and then I have to pick from what is left I lucked out this year!

I “have” to get a Lang calendar because I have this frame for them and they are the only ones big enough to fit.

It hangs in my kitchen and they are so inspirational. Mine for last year was the Breast Cancer Awareness one and it featured the 23rd Psalm. Which is my very favorite and I just loved walking by it everyday! This one says “In everything give thanks” I just have to smile!

The Christmas is put away and all of the celebrating is over. And I am ready for 2010!

I am looking forward to spending another great year here with you my friends in blogland!

This sweet pack of goodies is from Jonnie @ Jonnie’s Shabby Cottage Creations and More I won in July. I was the second one picked as the first winner didn’t respond. Then I didn’t answer for about a month. And then she mailed it and after a month I let her know it had not arrived. She tried to find it and was set to make me another one when the first of December it arrives back from the post office! I got it in a few days after the second sending but my goodies are well traveled. What stories they can tell. It is pink and very Valentine so I think it arrived right on time!

Monica @ Happy Nester gave away this great card holder. I was so excited. I almost ran over to Pier One and bought one when I saw her give away, I was so glad I won!!

She added this sweet little book to it. Got to love Gooseberry Patch!

Laurie Star  was sweet enough to offer this great set of goodies at Christmas! I received the package Christmas Eve. You know I didn’t wait a day to open so I had it under the tree too!

I will be crafting up a storm. It is great to have goodies all ready when you go to craft!

Thanks Ladies!! I had the best month in Blogland! And thanks to everyone for sharing your great holiday goodies and traditions. My first Christmas in Blogland was very lovely!

Merry Christmas

I love Christmas traditions. The Advent wreath, an Advent Calendar, the lights, the Christmas tree with all the decorations I have been given over the years, the candle light service at church.

We will be off in a few hours to the service and then home to be together as a family. We will do something really wonderful like Christmas specials on tv, BUT we are together and because we have seen them all before the children can talk all they want to.

I wish all of you the Happiest of Christmases and a Blessed New Year!

Christmas Goodies!

I finally got pictures of my Christmas projects made!

My mother found these blank journals in her storage and I decorated one for Christmas.

I used scrapbook paper and a packs of premade stickers and embellishments but I still think it is very cute.

Back cover. My nephews had drawn on them with marker so they had to be covered. It was fine I like how it all worked.

Inside front cover. I found a great stamp set and this is of the beginning of the Night Before Christmas.

This is more Victorian but I had to use it.

Inside the back cover. The song is Silent Night. It was on some great paper I got.

This was my first project. I do so like Santa!

I am a great gluer! hehe

I love the simple things that I can do in one sitting. I have never been good at long term projects. Guess I’ll work with what I’ve got!

I was excited to find this wreath! I used my artificial one on the advent wreath so I was glad to find a real one for $8!!

It is too fat and the storm door smashes it. But It sure smells good when you walk in and out the door!!

It is in the 30’s here for another day. I love the cold. I am so glad we got cold because the storm here in the east really didn’t give the Raleigh/Durham area anything to write about.

I hope it stays cold through next week. I don’t really like a warm Christmas.

Vintage Christmas

Just a few more shots of the Christmas at my house!

This is a collection of my vintage goodies. I gather them up as I see them. More than a few are from Suzanna’s!

This is my nightstand. My mother gave me the bottle brush tree and the snowman one year and the Santa another. I get these great goodies here and there.

These are new. I bought the fillings for super cheep at Joann Fabrics and added the Christmas balls.

Ok this isn’t Vintage either but I just had to. She thinks I make her look like a dork in this coat but I think it is tooo cute!! You cannot see the sweet faux fur collar on it. Actually Molly is on a diet and I can really tell when I put her coat on her that she needs to stay on her diet a little longer. She does like her food though. Boy I wish someone could feed me twice a day and I’d loose a pound a month and be ok with it! hehe

Never enough hours in a day.

Sorry I have been so sporadically visiting lately. I am trying but only seem to have about an hour a day and so much to see! You all have such lovely and informative Christmas posts! I am overwhelmed by all there is to do! I have FINALLY finished decorating my house. Not really a lot of decorating I just got out of the mood.

Today I am getting my Christmas cards out and mailing packages at the post office. Then I have to pick my mother up from work and go look at a house for her to rent. And my work Christmas party is tonight and I have a play at the church to go see. Guess I’ll miss a Charlie Brown Christmas this week too!

I hope to not have another busy day like this one. And I won’t it will all be done!

These three lovely pics are of a prize from Martha @ Martha’s Favorites. I really wanted this book!! The little dress is so sweet and I left the wonderful bow pin on it! The dish towel is perfect and I will never use for more than decoration!! hehe

I was also lucky enough to win from Cindy @ Fairy Tale Cottage

A lovely beaded bag of Lavender!!! It smells heavenly! It is close enough to my bed I can smell it! And it looks great with my other things too! So nice. Sachets are so funny because if they are to be hidden why are they so lovely?

Oh and I have to go pick up a copy of the 6th Harry Potter movie at some point. I have to have it or my collection will not be complete! hehe
