Inspired

I was on Facebook today and a friend posted a picture from another blog.

This was on Shabby Addicts Blog. Don’t you love this kitchen! It is a dream of mine to have shelves not cabinets in my kitchen, AND a HUGE farm sink!!!

Here though I was inspired by the chairs. I have 4 chairs, pink, green, (bought that way) and 2 brown :(

When I bought them they worked with my décor, anyway I bought the pink and green one with a new table and had the brilliant idea to paint the other two.

After long looking and buying paint and taking it back I got light blue and yellow. The yellow I wasn’t sure about but thought I’d like different colors.

Started with the light blue

Worked really great I think. covered easy and is lighter than I expected and I’m pleased!

Yellow, well did seriously think (ONLY THOUGHT) about painting the chair white first than using the yellow, I repressed that urge :(

It looks better here than in person. You can make out some of the streakiness on the top. Took the whole can. I will need another to finish the chair :(

I am pleased that it is a paler shade of yellow than the can suggested so I think it will go in my palette better. Do wish the project was done though.

I will post when the set is complete!

Happy Saturday!

Hugs, Lisa

  4. Hiiiii Lisa! Oh I love this look! Did you sand or prime or anything? I am so atracted to so many different color schemes that it makes it hard to stick with one! ♥

  8. Oh wow! Everything's going to look gorgeous Lisa! Love how you're doing these chairs! Gosh, I tried to spray paint a simple lampshade this week, and failed miserably. The paint just wouldn't seem to take; like it was just painting the air more than the lampshade! I'm going to have to hand paint it now... Well.. That or buy a new lampshade! Hope I won't have to do THAT! The heat was a doozy today! Hope you're keeping cool where you are! ~tina

  11. Hi Lisa, too long since I've stopped by your blog - or seen you at SuzAnna's - so here I am back from England and trying to catch up with all my blogging circle of friends.

I LOVE how you are painting the chairs in different colors - great job. I hope you can get your open shelves and a farm sink some day - I've wanted similar, however I think I'm stuck with the kitchen I have now forever. It's OK though, especially since I did get the chandelier over the island - I love that part!

Hope life is good - the animals are OK in this ongoing heat - and that you are still out treasure hunting. Shop has been slow, people don't like the heat, but I'm heading there today early to check my space. Vanessa has vacated - too far to come with the high gas prices, and she has other commitments requiring her time. Gail and Laurie are opening their own shop in the red roofed little house - that will be interesting and I can't wait to see their new space when ready.

Hope to catch up with you in person soon.
    Hugs - Mary
