Transformation Pink Saturday!

Happy Pink Saturday! Please visit Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for more lovely pinks!!

So I saw these great dresser trays on several peoples blogs and even shops. They were painted! When I was lucky enough to find one SUPER cheep at our church's yard sale I was thrilled. It was not in great shape as you can see so sure I'll paint it.

Well that was in May. And it sat in the magazine rack my sister got me until August. I had the paint, Pink and White so I had a  choice. I'll confess now I'm scared of commitment, and I'm lazy. So painting is a permanent thing for me, I can change the color of I don't like it but it will stay painted. It really was in bad shape and I got it to PAINT!! WHAT IS MY PROBLEM?!
I got it out one day and grabbed my favorite ballet pink spray paint and put it in a box outside and did it!
It is soooooo much better than before and I just love it! The pretty work in the edges just pops with the paint. The color is perfect, and in this picture you don't even notice the mirror is messed up!  I'm still afraid to paint everything but I'm getting better as projects come out so well!

I would like to share Jillian's  blog Bella Rosa Antiques for my Pink Saturday shout out. Jillian finds all sorts of great treasures to share! Enjoy!
Hugs, Lisa

  1. I painted a picture frame that looks just like this recently, the same color! I almost sold it in a garage sale, but pulled it back and fixed it up. I'm so glad I did, my Mom had it for years when I was growing up so I wasn't quite ready to part with it. I love the pink!

  4. Didn't it come out well! Just shows what you can do. And if the mirror is damaged, well, it's all part of the shabby chic look. I'd just be on the lookout for a tray cloth - if you got one the right size, you could get piece of glass cut, plonk it on top, and there you go! What a lucky find that was.

    Happy Pink Saturday, sweetie!

  6. So pretty1 It looks great, Lisa! I know what you mean about painting. I have so many things "to paint" some day. I've told myself I can't buy anything else that has to be painted! ♥

  7. That is SOOOO cute!!!! I would love one of those ~ I'll have to keep my eye out and I'm the same way about painting - it gives me a mini panic attack! ha ha You did a GREAT job though. I've never done Pink Saturday - I'll have to try and remember that. And your comment on my blog about tooting your own horn when you win a giveaway?? NO WAY! You're one of my very favs and I think it's nice to recognize the person who did all that work on a giveaway. You go, girl, and toot all you want! HA HA Have a great weekend ~ ♥

  11. L♥ve your pink goodies this week. Just when I think I have enough pink in my life I participate in Pink Saturday and see even more sweet things I’d enjoy having in my home or flowers for my gardens or just to look at☺ What could be better than the color pink dancing in your head all morning?

    Like your Halloween decor!

Thanks so much for sharing. Hoping your weekend is filled with sunshine and the comfort of those you love and who love you.

  12. That looks so great. I remember having one of those when I was in high school, they were so popular. I didn't know you could find them anymore. You did a fantastic job, I love it much better than the gold. Happy Pink Saturday, Char

  13. Happy Pink Saturday Lisa!
Way to go. You go girl. That mirror looks great. Sometimes we just have to take a chance. I love it. I can't wait to see what you set on the mirror. Cloche or otherwise. It would be beautiful with pink and silver ornaments in a cloche at the holiday. For now anything goes. I have really gotten into this ballet pink, as it goes with so many things. I just love it. Thanks for sharing sweetie. Please stop by and see my pink post today. I so want to share it. Country hugs, Sherry

  14. Very pretty, Lisa! Don't you just love what a little paint can do? I just spray-painted an Eiffel Tower white today. It had been sitting in my home for at least three years and I just got around to doing it. It looks sooo much better! Have a lovely weekend.

    Blessings,

  19. Oh that pink paint made that look GREAT!!!! I bet you are sooooooooooo glad you did that. I have been wanting to make a tray out of a tray. I bought the frame this week from my friend Pat. But, like you... not sure when that will happen. Maybe it will just over come me one day. :)

    Have a great week.

  21. Yes, you're so funny-I do sleep, but I also usually wake up at some point in the middle of the night and sometimes and idea pops in my head and I can't go back to sleep till I figure out, in my mind, how to create something. I usually go to bed around midnight and then I'm up somewhere between 5:30 and 6:30. For some reason we all sleep till about 8:45 this morning and that RARELY ever happens.
I can't wait to show the project I worked on today--I am loving it. I'm going to show it for the Knock Off Knock Out party Monday, but I will have the party up on Sunday Night.

  25. Your tray looks great and such a gorgeous colour!
I think painting brings a whole new lease of life to things but unfortunately I just don't seem to get the time at moment and having Jack around doesn't help lol!
I have 2 bookcase to do but really don't know when they'll get done!
    Have a great weekend

  26. Were you at SuzAnna's yesterday!!!! Can't believe we missed a chance to meet up! Let me know when you go again Lisa.

Love the pink paint makeover - and you need damaged glass for the vintage look, so enjoy. Love paint, it's so forgiving and can always be redone over and over, ha! ha!
