I went out to put away this green tote, buy to my pink dishes for awhile.
To put it here
Yes ladies this is my on site storage. No attic and the closets are non existent!
See here is a look over the top
Yes ladies it is to the roof! Six feet tall on both sides all the way to the top! Over half is mine. The other half is my mother's.
I AM GETTING RID OF IT ALL! I'M DONE IT HAS TO GO!!!
What brought this on you ask? I have at least 5 glass acorns and 3 turkeys.
NONE OF WHICH I COULD FIND TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not happy and I was DRIPPING wet with sweat when I came inside. I have 2 Halloween totes and one with fall glass. NONE of which I could find ONE SINGLE ACORN OR TURKEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I am off this weekend and I have decided anything I don't think I can put on consignment at Suzanna's Antiques will be given away on my blog! I want it gone ALL OF IT!!
My house you understand is OVERFLOWING!!!!!
I am also going to be VERY careful not to buy one single stupid holiday item this year. I got tired of the 12 Christmas totes I opened and that really put me over the edge so I had to quit! Be on the lookout ladies I am on a rampage!
Thanks for listening I just had to get this off my chest. Now MAYBE I can make it to Saturday to get this done. Watch out Jenny here I come with a LOAD!
Hugs, Lisa
Ahhh...Lisa, don't let the turkeys get you down.

ps The amazing thing about storage...at least with mine...is that the more I put in...the more I seem to be able to fit in the next time...
pps Thank God for plastic bins!!!
ppps Oh, and I forgot to mention that I like your new background and header!
ReplyDeleteYes, I love your new blog "dress" too! how cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am so sorry you're frustrated.....but cleaning out will help you feel better and able to consolidate......you can do it!
Suzanne
Maybe you will discover things you forgot you had. I hope you find your missing turkey! I'm a mini hoarer too and have stuff in boxes.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel, I've been going through the same thing. I can never find anything I'm looking for. I hope you find your turkey!
ReplyDeleteStephenie
We have storage shed full of stuff, too. I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteI know. When you get to the point where you're buying things you find you already have, there must be an intervention! I have no more space either!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I hardly have any holiday decor! I'll take some! ☺
ReplyDeleteThis will be like shopping all over again--seeing things you have forgotten you had. I feel your pain and I HAVE an attic. I just have three children who think it is a mini storage :) Good luck!
ReplyDeletei hear ya! i have gotten rid of many decorations the last couple of years! i know the feeling well!
ReplyDeletehow many pumpkins, black cats, santas and snowman does a person need to get their point across?
good luck at dejunking, oh you will feel refreshed when finished!
Thank you so much, Lisa, for your good wishes for Clara, they are truly appreciated!!!! By the way, storage and organization are my true weaknesses, I never seem to get where I want to be!!!
ReplyDeleteIsabel
Hi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI love your new header.
We are the same, have a lock up storage shed that everything gets dumped in. I need to do exactly what you are going to do.
Good luck with finding the missing decorations, it can be a pain, can't it.
Enjoy your week
Hugs
Carolyn
GOOD LUCK ON THAT!!!! I too have a bucket fettish! I have a storage unit I pay rent on to store STUFF!!!! The thought of the amount of work it would take to be done with it all is almost too overwhelming to deal with... so I pay more rent. It is a disease! I have color coded buckets so I know where the "turkey's" are. And the witches, & the bunnies, & the elves... do ya get the picture? Good Luck. I bet ya buy some more next year because you'll MISS it!
ReplyDeleteyou just made my day, mine looks just like that, but its in my garage also, oh, i also put some in my husbands hunting room in the garage, good luck, and good for you.
ReplyDeleteIt will be in the last one you look in, start there!!! He he ...... I am only kidding.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all that purging!! It's healing.
Hugs,
Margaret B
Ranting is good for us! But don't get rid of anything in haste! Believe me. I have done that before and regretted it forever!!! My husband doesn't even mention getting rid of anything anymore, he knows that is dangerous ground. He has a good system for storage of the season things. The boxes are rotated to make sure the next season is always at the front of the storage unit and all the boxes are marked on all 4 sides as well as the top (with permenant marker), so it is easier now. I will do anything to keep all my "junk"!!
ReplyDeleteYour blog looks lovely Lisa :)
ReplyDeleteI know just what you mean about stuff!!!! I cant even stand to go into my basement anymore, lol! I surely dont need any more holiday STUFF either!! Good luck and good for you getting rid of it! It always feels so good to purge.
Hugs,
Amy
I have done the same thing too. In fact at one time I was cleaning some boxes out and noticed I had stored books in a box and that I had bought a new book the week before and I had the same book packed in the old box.
ReplyDeleteWillow
Whoa ... it must be bad if you've resorted to ranting on your blog. Haha, it did make me laugh though. I think it's easier to rant about your storage problem than it is to actually get rid of it, so lots of luck! You have wonderful things stored in all those bins so it's going to be difficult. :)
ReplyDeleteCathy
I don't blame you for being ticked, especially when you can't find your Fall stuff. You'll probably find it in December! LOL
ReplyDeleteGood luck downsizing!
Ooooooh, you are going to feel SOOO good when you get rid of some stuff! And you just rant and rave to us any old time. I just today called a friend and told her I needed to vent for 5 minutes (it turned into 8) and I felt so much better. She didn't solve my problems, but she told me, "Yep that stinks" a few times and that did the trick. Hope your day gets better girl ~ ♥
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way and have started fall cleaning. It seems the older I become the less possessions I want.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, thanks for the comments on my blog. I hope while you were there you clicked on the shabbylaneshops giveaway. If you didn't please be sure to do that. It's for a gorgeous hat box filled with over $100.00 worth of items by some of the vendors there. My shop is someplace in thyme and I donated a sachet and wooden tags. Good luck, Char
ReplyDeleteI have a theory about STUFF. I think it BREEDS when it gets in our houses. I swear I don't buy that much, but there is always STUFF accumulating that I haul away too. lol
ReplyDeleteIt is okay to rant once in awhile!!
Blessings~
WOW! I am so impressed with how it is all tucked away in totes and bins!
ReplyDeleteI think the consignment thing is a good idea...unless you change your mind!
Honey: Let me tell how I store my things. First by month, I always label my boxes. It is easier to find things by the month and by the holiday! When all else fails, sell it on Ebay! That is what I do!
ReplyDeleteWhat did we ever do before plastic totes??? The trouble is they hold so many wonderful goodies and they are almost always in colors and we forget what is in there. The red totes are a great idea for Christmas items! I MUST decluter but it actually is painful. Each thing has a memory, a space in our time. How does one know what to keep what to give away? Can someone tell you what is a keeper and what is a goer?
ReplyDeleteYour gifts are wonderful! You truly are fortunate...sharon
I totally(TOTALLY) understand! Whew, do I need to do that too! You're setting a good example!! Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sheila
