I started sometime late in August buying books. I was on a hunt and wasn't sure why. I found $1 books on sale tables that started a hunt for a series. Tasha Tudor had a birthday so I had to have more of hers. There are great decorating books I "needed". And then I was hooked on Somerset Magazines. SO I hunted more. I finally decided I was gathering to hibernate! I guess I read more in the winter. I know I get on kicks and then move to other things but I was definitely headed to a reading kick.
Now this is where my room is...The bedside table
The magazine rack
End of the bed
In a display
On the floor
one of the book shelves two rows deep!
I am currently reading for the following series
Home To Holly Springs ( A Father Tim novel) Jan Karon
Letters From Pemberley Jane Dawkins
Miss Julia series Ann B Ross
Miss Read The Fairacre Series
and rereading the twilight saga
Not to mention this
It is so cool!
I am so ready to settle in to Winter with my huge fiesta ware tea cup and nice warm cups of tea and all my favorite books!
Happy Reading!
Hugs, Lisa

There is just something so comforting about a book. It doesn't have to be expensive or new or collectible - all you have to do is like it and all of a sudden it becomes precious and magical.
ReplyDeleteI have tons of books that I have read and just can't part with no matter how much I tell myself I need to do it. They are definitely old friends and old memories.
Hi Lisa. Great collections of books.
ReplyDeleteNice post!
I love the Christmas holiday season as well.
ReplyDeleteI am contacting each person who enjoyed the home tours and ask them to post the button on their side bar so their friends can learn about it to.

That sounds delightful, the tea and all. My nightside table looks worse that yours, I've got stuff all over it, piles on the dresser, piles on the desk. I need to clean, badly!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!!!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne
I love to read as well. I am so stuck on the Sommerset Mag. I wish they did not cost so much. I buy them every month. I am reading the Twilight series again, just can't wait for the next movie. Blessings my friend. Martha
ReplyDeleteHi, Lisa,
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you are ready to snuggle in for a good read! I, too, love to read. I just bought two of my favorite magazines, Romantic Homes and Romantic Country, and I look forward to a hot cup of coffee and some serious reading of these magazines. Thank you for sharing your reading list, too. Have a great weekend. Vicki
Hiya Lisa, did I see Mother Goose in one of those pictures? I loved Mother Goose stories as a girl. I saw Jane Austin too those always are a good read. I haven't had much time to read anything but school books lately but I always make time for my blogger friends lol. Thanks for stopping by over at Pink Saturday today, I love your visits. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Heidi
Ooo! You own your Twilight books! I had to borrow mine. I want to re-read them again too- except the last one.
ReplyDeleteDo you know about Paperback swap? It's a good way to find the books you want in trade for some you don't want anymore. ♥
I am so overwhelmed by stuff, and books are a particularly treasured bit of clutter here, that I keep saying I want a Kindle.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, though, there is something so comforting about a book, a Somerset magazine, a Pottery Barn catalog, and great novels. Are you sure you didn't take of pic of my bedside?
I'll be hibernating, too, amongst the words bound and stack next me.
I LOVE books. Someday I should take a photo of my huge bookshelf upstairs and share it. I have books piled upon books. Nothing like reading a good book while sipping a cup of warm tea.
ReplyDeleteBlessings~
Lisa, you remind me so much of my daughter. She can't read enough and has books all over her home. I used to read a lot, but somehow now there is just enough time. I find myself in the sewing room every chance I get, enjoy your winter, you are ready to go, Happy Pink Saturday my friend, Char
ReplyDeleteYou and Me both hunni!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great selection you have there, they'll certainly keep you entertained for a good while.
Hope you're having a good weekend, I apologise for slacking in my comments lately. I've been so busy, it's been a case of read and run lol!
Love and ((hugs))

My areas - my side of the bed, my side of the coffee table - plus under the coffee table, my side of the shelf - plus the bookcases, the floor my side of the sofa, the computer area - all are STUFFED with books and magazines. Not forgetting the space under the TV (which is on a long bookcase-style thingie).
ReplyDeleteI think we must be twins separated at birth, lol. There is nothing nicer than getting lost in a good book! Happy Pink Saturday - and thank you so much for downloading my blinkie! I'm thrilled!
I don't think I've ever seen a Somerset before....it looks very interesting. Have a good rest of your weekend! Hugs, Leslie
ReplyDeleteWow, you do have quite a collection of books there! I always enjoy reading for a bit before I fall asleep. I haven't seen the Sommerset Holiday magazine ~ think I may have to try to find one!

ReplyDeleteI have to admit I'm somewhat of a book 'hoarder' too! I love them . . . the smell of a new book is just too much for me to resist.

Thanks for sharing!

I am so with you girl! My hubby says one corner of the house will crack off due to the weight of the magazines & books. :0
ReplyDeleteI have not seen Tasha Tudor books in forever! She was so talented. Loved her illistrations. Sommerset Home comes out Oct.1 :) You & Jain at Once In A Blue Moon both devour books. She reads amazing #'s of books. You should go to my sidebar & find her Blog. The go back in old posts & see what all she has read. She is into the kindle to read. Have a great weekend. ReplyDeleteLisa, It looks like you have your reading materials all ready to get you through those long winter nights. I'm sitting here in my fleece p.j.'s already and it's only September.
ReplyDeleteI do love the snow, but since it rained all summer here in N.E., I'm not so looking forward to many long winter nights. I think I'll get some books out too. Great idea. lol
xo Cathy
You're in nesting mode, girl!
ReplyDeleteBrenda

Wow! It looks like you're not going to have time for anything else this winter. You must be planning for a loooong winter! hehe!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteYour set for the season for sure!! How fun that you have so much to look forward to in the colder months.
Karen
Beautiful eye candy, Lisa! I love books, and I've been doing the same thing, stockpiling books for the winter! Oh, and just under 2 months until the new Twilight movie...
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Carol
OK, girl, as someone who works in a library, I LOVVVVVE all your books!!!!!! I want to come over and look through them all with you. The Jan Karon series (Mitford) and the Miss Julia series are two that I've read and HIGHLY recommend. I love your taste in books and all your displays, too. I'd expect nothing less from you!! Have a great day ~ ♥
ReplyDeletei'm thinking you are planning on a long drawn out winter, my favorite kind. i too enjoy reading in the cooler months. enjoy all of your finds!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, you are inspiring me to find some good books for winter. I love to read, but life got hectic and I slowed down. Perfect time to find some new ones. I agree curling up with a good book and a hot cup of cocoa is one of my favorite things. Thanks so much for coming by and all your encouragement...I appreciate you!
ReplyDeleteDebra
You have such a good stash of reading for those winter months. Hibernating sounds dreamy. I just love reading a good book on a cold dreary day with a warm fire in the fireplace.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
I hope you have PLENTY of room on your couch because it sounds like a lot of us will be joining you!
ReplyDeleteI have been gathering books too. My kids have inherited my book collecting bug so we support each others habit, heehe!
I always buy them lots of books for Christmas from the Goodwill. It is so fun to see how excited they are unwrapping them!
Blessings~LillySue
