Just a Thought

I am stopping by to let you know I am almost moved and settled and have pictures to share soon! I hope to be back blogging more soon. We are using any available wifi at the moment so I don't always have access :)
I just wanted to share a thought
I have worked at my current animal hospital for over 5 years.
I love it and the animals we treat here. So after 5 years you see quite a few of them pass on. Over the past few weeks we have lost more than normal and it is sad for us all. It is hard knowing what it is like to loose a pet and friend. We are lucky that our Vet/owner has been here 25 years and even if it takes some people a while to come back they usually do. I think they like that we too remember their past friends and rejoice in their new ones.
I know this is a sad post for a beautiful Fall day but I was just remembering a few old friends today.
Hugs, Lisa

  1. Hi Lisa...so glad you are just about moved in. So, what do you think? My sister says I can move a complete household into a 4 bedroom home with most of the inventory of a Williams Sonoma store and be unpacked in 2-3 days? Gotta love sisters, huh?

So glad you are part of a loving environment!

  2. Hi Lisa, I don't think this is a sad post, when think of my pets who have passed on, I get a smile. I know we will see them again one day..I'm glad that those patients who have lost their pets return with new pets..keeps that cycle going for themselves with pets..
    Have a great day!

  4. I know what you mean, Lisa. The few years I worked at an animal hospital were wonderful and bittersweet at the same time. You get to know the owners and their beloved pets and when one gets sick and passes on, it breaks your heart.

  5. As somone who has owned animals all my life, the tears soon make way for more to come in and share memories with. In 08 it was a very very hard summer. I lost our rescue boston of 14 years at the age of approximate 18 years old. And, my most beloved Dutch Shepherd of 11.6 years. I had her from 5 weeks old. I did not know if my heart would heal. She finally succomed to an addison's crisis and it was so fast I was shocked. We, the owners, appreciate all of you at the office for working so hard to keep our family members healthy. Hugs. tammy

  7. Hi sweet Lisa,
I totally understand your sentiment about saying goodbye to our four legged friends. They are in your care so you are bound to feel the loss as well as the owners do. It's just human nature. We love them because they love us back without fail.

Don't worry, it's not a sad post but one that celebrates our want for unconditional love from our very special friends....our pets.

    Many hugs,
    Deanna :D

  12. Pets are a blessing to many. And, it is also a blessing that there are people like you to care for pets and help love them.

I don't think I knew you live in North Carolina.♥
