Artist of the week 4

Hi it's that time again! I'm going to show my Great Aunt Betty's work this week. Please excuse my pictures of Pictures I get shaky and the more I try the worse it gets!

This one is Rainbow Row in Charleston SC

Aunt Betty was born and raised in Kansas MO. She started her art career working for Hallmark designing cards. I don't have any of her cards but I sure wish I did. She moved to Charleston in the '70's to be near her daughter Linda. That's when she started doing all the Charleston Pictures. Most of mine are prints except the Holly Hobby like girls which is a water color on a scrap of paper she did one summer when she was in Raleigh visiting us. And the oil Pink Lady I was given when my sweet cousin Linda died. Her great grandson is my cousin Chase who is battling stage 4 Neoblastoma. I've posted on him a few times and he spent the weekend at the beach for the 4th. He started his 4th round of chemo yesterday. Sorry more sad stuff Aunt Betty died in January of this year. She was 96. She lost most of her sight several years back and had not done any work in years. I treasure all the works and memories I have. A lot of people don't even know their grandparents and I was blessed to know all mine plus their brothers and sisters and I remember knowing most of my Great Grand Parents. Family is a blessing!
Hugs, Lisa

  15. Guess what Guess what-my Dad is a retired Hallmark artist also. There are soooo many people there-wouldn't it be funny if they had worked together.
