Hi!! Welcome to the Heirloom Party! Please visit Marie @ Emma Calls Me Mama for a whole list!!
I have TONS from my mother's family!
A rocking chair it was her father's Mother, Rosebud. She and her sister Ruth married brothers Sam and Charles. Uncle Charles and Aunt Ruth never had children and my mother loved them as second grandparents.
and she made this trivet (standing in the back crocheted with green base) I wouldn't dare use it on a table and get it dirty!!
She and her sister made these pot holders too!
They hang in the kitchen but are not used either. hehe
The last piece my grandmother made for me.
She wove this piece and then made it in to a tray (she saw it on Martha Stewart) Silly Grandma she thought I wouldn't want it!! I'm a softy and don't care if it looks right with my decor, it is in my living room and I am so thrilled I have something my grandmother wanted to make for me!
I actually could do a month of posts of my dear families' treasures but these will do for now!
Enjoy the rest!
Hugs, Lisa
Hi Lisa - Your heirlooms are absolutely priceless! I told my mom she needs to let us know which things are treasures and which things aren't. I might think something is an old family heirloom and she'll say she picked it up at the drug store one day. HUH??? Did you ever do Vintage Thingies Thursday at Colorado Lady? I never did, but would love to. You need to if you haven't because you've got some awesome things here! And thanks for stopping by my blog and posting about my giveaway - that was so sweet!! Take care ~
ReplyDeleteOh, what beautiful and special treasures! Aren't grandma's wonderful?

ReplyDeleteHi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely and special treasures you have inherited from your family.
They always mean so much more than buying things from an antique store.

Heirlooms are the best treasures of all. So nice you have some to keep the memories of your loved ones!
ReplyDeleteLove those things! I am the same way my grandma doesn't think I would want something but I do simply for the memories lol.
