I went to the flea market at the NC State Fairgrounds last Sunday.
As I gave up shopping for Lent this was a BIG mistake. But I was drawn maybe it was the nice weather or I was just crazy but I had to go.
I really feel it was to find this
I have wanted one of these for the better part of a year, about the time I started doing Pink Saturdays.
Yes ladies I am blaming shopping on Pink Saturday. I got dishes because of a post 2 weeks ago! hehe
Isn’t it great. Ok here is the good part….
$10!!
Yes I was thrilled!! It works too! I was so shocked when she told me the price I think I threw the money at her, well after I picked it up so no one else would get it! It could have been cheaper but I have only seen them on eBay and well shipping would be at least $10 as it is really heavy!
I am well on my way to my new pink room!
And my mom found this! Too cute right?! I was so excited when she let me have it! She found a red one and an umbrella too. What great things people used to have and threw away! They were silly party favors. Wonder what they would think of how we love these silly things!
I hope you are all having a super wonderful Pink Saturday and enjoy running over to Beverly’s blog for the whole list!!
Hugs, Lisa

Very nicely done Lisa! Happy PS!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post you have shared today. I so adore this little radio. How cute and vintage. I too would have grabbed it up for only 10.00. I would've thrown my money down and ran for the hills. So cute.
Love the basket that your Moma purchased and then gave to you. Aren't Moma's just the greatest? I love it.
Have a beautiful Pink Saturday. Thanks for sharing. Country hugs Lisa sweetie...Sherry
You scored, Lisa! What a fabulous find - you couldn't pass it up. Congratulations!

Lisa, I LOVE your pink radio! And what a steal at $10! You're right, shipping would have been at least that much from Ebay, because those suckers are heavy. Don't you just love finding a great piece like that, for cheap?!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend,
Carol
I am going to post you some nuts Lisa....
ReplyDeleteI'll look for some pink ones.........:-)

ReplyDeleteGreat Find Lisa! I went to the Fairgrounds Fleamarket last summer. I had been wanting to go for so long. I didn't buy much but had alot of fun. Its a 3 hour drive for me so I can't get up there to often. We hot the Museum of Natural Sciences afterward and I loved that. The kids liked it too! I've been wanting to go back. Maybe one weekend when it warms up:)
ReplyDeleteThat radio is so cute. It reminds me one that my Mom had so many years ago. Great shopping.

Whoo hoo, what a find! Congratulations! Doesn't it give you a warm glow to hit on something like this (must be the women's equivalant of the caveman dragging a woolly mammoth back to his cave singlehanded: first the hunt, then the swoop...)
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, sweetie!
I love this pink radio. I think I had one of these when I was around 17. Wonder if my Mom still has it? Lovely post.
ReplyDeleteAnn

ReplyDeleteFirst off, lovin the party favor! I'm surprised how strange people are about party favors! I've done such cute ones for parties and people just leave them, what do they think there for??Gee! Really cute radio! I'm so envious of the time when you could buy pink anything!!! I'm on the hunt for a tea pot and toaster!! Need to check Amazon! Don't know why you weren't on my sidebar, you will be now! Take care and come back for my give away Monday, you'll love it!! Lori
Love the radio. What a great find.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday.
Hello Lisa: This Lent thing is hard. I know you can do it. Love the radio. By the way, I not so sure I win in the collections department. You seem to have a very good handle on collections yourself. So the jury is still out. Blessings dear friend. Martha
ReplyDeleteagree with everyone else: cute, cute, cute!!!

I am pretty sure I had a radio like that when I was growing up - not pink - almond colored I think - very very similar ... whoa! Takes me back. It is amazing what people throw out. I would hate to admit to all the things I wish I had not thrown out. Or did I just do it? :) Enjoyed my visit! Happy Pink Saturday! Jenn and, I noticed your verse Ps 46:10 ... sometimes (always?!) it's just so important to stop and realize that God is ... God.
ReplyDeleteLisa, that radio is so cool. What a find, I can just hear your giggles of joy. Thank you for stopping by Decorating My Tin Shack for a visit and for the nice words. I need to go do some more visiting now that the day is winding down.
