Last Saturday after work I stopped by my favorite place in the world, Barnes and Nobles, hey they have Starbucks there!!
I had seen the table stating that they were having a reading/signing by the author
They had these books
and
Now as I was buying my New Moon DVD and I am not made of money I bought the paper back and the bargain versions of these.
I went back at 4pm to hear her talk and read from her latest book
The Girl Who Chased the Moon.
Well ladies she is a sweetie and from right here in NC! I really enjoyed hearing her read and talk about writing. I was so inspired.
Sunday I started reading Garden Spells. Her books are not sequels but I wanted to read them in order! I have never read an author with a voice like hers! She has multiple characters and develops and tells a story for them all. She has hints of Fairy Tales and magic that are just fantastic. She also like to add food, lots of food to her books!
I have finished Garden Spells and cannot wait to start The Sugar Queen and on payday I will back at B&N to get The Girl Who Chased the Moon!
I don’t think I can say enough. I cannot tell you when I have been so excited to read an author!
I hope you will look for her books!
Let me know if you do or if you have read them!
Hugs, Lisa
I've never heard of her, but maybe I should suggest her for our next book club selection. She's really good, huh?

What a wonderful treat! I love to read and will take a look for these.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Oh I'm so glad you stopped by my blog because now I came over to yours and just found out about some new books to add to my list. Looks like you have a fun place here!
ReplyDeleteBookstores are the best. I so wish we had one. Just to hang out inside. But, then I would buy a coffee, even though I shouldn't. There is a little library in the village full of musty books. Still, I am trying to keep track of the times it is open so I can check some out. I always remember on Sunday, and they are so closed that day. Reading is a good thing, hearing the author speak makes it even better.
ReplyDeleteI will look for her books...never heard of them before..oh and there is nothing better than a bookstore to make one happy..especially if you have your favourite Starbucks. xoxo
ReplyDeleteOhhh I love books any kind I can get my hands on - what fun! An I just watched New Moon on-demand Tuesday night! Loved it - I'm a vampire lover from way back:)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!

Hi Lisa
ReplyDeletei think I read some of hers, I read so much I forget who! So, you think that the amount they sell isn't much, blogger. What stinks is I eliminated all the pictures from my first blog cause I was so mad, you think that would have helped back then, didn't. I noticed the amount they sell isn't in the formatted amount that it posts when you download. Don't know what I'll do, its getting me depressed to not figure it out! later,Lori
I have picked a couple of these up and looked at them ... next time I will buy! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for recommendation!

Hi Lisa!
ReplyDeletethanks for the heads up on this author. I had never heard of her or the book. but, I will check them out now.
I have not seen this author. But I will be on the look out now. Unfortunately, I usually buy the books I read by the titles. Sometimes being disappointed, sometimes not. The title Sugar Queen definitely catches my eye.
